The Fantasy for Darbuka happened when classically trained darbuka player Raquy Danziger teamed up with concert pianist Nima Farahmand Bafi, an Iranian piano virtuoso who plays both western classical and Iranian style music. Raquy composed a 3 movement Fantasy for Darbuka, each movement in a differed meter.

In the Spring of 2026 Nima and Raquy met in Istanbul where they played through the fantasy for the first time. In the video below you can see some excerpts from each movement
