Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is an ancient, universal symbol that represents interconnectedness, growth, strength, and the continuous cycle of life with roots sinking deep into the earth, the trunk connecting the earth to the sky and the branches reaching up towards heaven.

Raquy uses “halkar” - illuminated floral designs as the fruit hanging from the tree. The leaves are painted with real gold. The technique used in this painting is called “noktalamak” which is a way of using thousands of tiny dots.

The roots turn into “Rumis” which are abstract animal representations in Islamic Art. The Rumis are also painted with real gold.
